Has 15+ years of full time experience in design, development, and analysis, debugging and testing of software applications. Skills include ability to work in a team, high degree of initiative, effective time and team management, good knowledge and strength in System Design and analysis, experience in effective project management in par with ISO standards and procedures. Has excellent communication skills, client coordination and project deliveries

Gayathri leads the entire technology initiatives and development.
G. Narayanan - Director
Narayanan, has got 15 years of experience in building content on corporate datasets, economy, industry & markets. He spearheaded the Product Development team in “TickerPlant”, a group company of Financial Technologies India Ltd. He has handled various assignments involving in conceptualizing of the product, processing through various stages till the development. Prior to the above assignment, has worked for “Capital Market Publishers”, in parallel with building corporate datasets, was a research analyst focusing on industry/sector analysis. In addition, has published various research articles in the company’s group magazine ‘Capital Market’. Narayanan holds an MBA specialized in Finance from IGNOU with a commerce degree from University of Madras.

Narayanan leads the efforts on building and managing databases.
Rohit Sabherwal - Director
Rohit has over 20-years of professional experience in Business Development at the highest level in the Corporate sector as well as Governments. Prior to being part of the start-up team at Akara, Rohit was Head - Business Development at Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE). He was an integral part of the transformation of CMIE into an aggressive player in the Information business. His leadership led to CMIE's dominant position in most of the market segments - banks, financial markets, corporates, consulting, business schools and Government. He also led CMIE's forays into building India’s largest primary data collection machinery – to gather household income & consumption through a survey of households & spot commodity prices from commodity traders, across the country. At CMIE, he negotiated and managed high value business partnerships with multinational information companies. He has been a member of various committees set-up by the Government of India. Recently, he worked on consulting assignment with Municipalities on Smart Cities. He did his post-graduation in International Marketing (PGDIM), from Department of Commerce Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.

Rohit leads business development, strategy and fund raising.
Sethuraman Ramabadran - Director
Sethuraman has over 17 years of experience in Business Development, Strategy & Operations. Prior to setting up Akara,Sethuraman headed Business Development & Operations at Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) for the Southern Region, India. Sethuraman was instrumental in implementing and managing India's largest household survey in the Southern India. Sethuraman managed large & complex economic & business data collection projects & their contractual relationships with the Central & State Governments and commodity exchanges. In the last two years,he has been working with with technology & research teams to build & deliver process-driven solutions in the areas of economic & business decision making in Government & Private sector. Sethuraman serverd as Member- Board of Studies – Department of Economics, Univeristy of Madras during 2011-2013

Sethuraman leads the entire operations, and is also responsible for business development, strategy and fund raising.
L. Somasundaram - Director
Somasundaram is an economic analyst with 18 years of experience in managing and executing economic research projects of diverse nature, and delivering map-based analytics of economic parameters. His expertise is in conceiving, designing and implementing ICT tools for development and governance. Earlier, he was Executive Director, Centre for Development Finance, Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR). He has an MBA in Finance from IFMR and MA in Econometrics from the University of Madras. In his earlier assignments he was a member in different committees set up by the State Planning Commission, Tamil Nadu, on state level economic planning. In IFMR, he had set up the Development Metrics Programme that created the ICT tools for Development. Prior to joining IFMR, he was with Reliance Industries Limited as Economist in its Business Intelligence Unit, Chennai.
